This is a small handful of a ground cover plant that a neighbor has and I want to get. The location is Ponce, Puerto Rico, so it’s tropical tolerant, and maybe people in south florida would see. Or other islanders.
My MIL really doesn’t have anyone to take care of a real lawn, and this looks to be a great solution. We’ll head over to HD to see if they have it. But in the mean time, the collective experts may know what it is.
Pretty sure that’s what’s commonly called wild violet has tiny, pretty purple flowers in season Mostly it’s a weed but I sometimes let patches of it slide when I lived in FL
Edit: I was thinking of a wild violet, HGTV page here, not quite what you have. I Bing-ed “weeds that look like violets” and found it, seems you have a varietal. So wild violet it is.
Didn’t think of a mini wild violet. I’ll look for those. Funny they are called a weed, as they look like a great no work ground cover.
