...building materials!

OK, so I'm going to be pretty busy for the next year or so remodeling the old building I'm buying, so rather than let this car sit I thought I'd offer it here & see if anyone might be interested in this.

Details

It's a 1962 Pontiac Tempest LeMans, with the 194ci 4-cyl and 3spd rear transaxle with independent suspension. The car has a rebuilt engine - supposedly bored .030" over, decked & ported - though I haven't pulled it apart. It has a rebuilt Edelbrock 1405 4-barrel carb, new cap & rotor, and new vacuum advance. New rubber fuel lines & filter. It runs & drives good, though I haven't had the chance to drive it very far, so you're on your own if you want to drive cross-country in it!

It has new hard brake lines, rebuilt master & slave cylinders, and relined shoes. New front shocks, and 4 brand-new tires. I custom fabbed a swaybar for the rear, cut the coils, and coated the tank and rear underbody with truck bedliner too.

The body is very solid, there's one hole in the floor, one small hole in each wheel well & that's it. It has had new metal welded in the rear roll-pan & a couple other places. There's still some small dings/dents that will need addressed if you want it to look nice...and it really needs to be painted the same shade(it looks better in person, believe it or not!).

I have the rear bumper, but it needs straightened & chromed - or I also have a Nash Rambler bumper I was going to modify to fit.

The interior is really good. The seats are nice & the headliner is still intact, but splitting at one of the seams. The windows work very smooth.

Tons of spare parts, including a complete front subframe, and the original numbers-matching block. Many rare/hard to find parts, including a U-joint for the drive axles, rear tail lights, trunk lid, etc.

It's worth around $2k as-is.

What I'm looking for

Well, I'm renovating a 110-year old, 8800sq-ft building, so...building materials would be good: Drywall, lumber, kitchen & bathroom fixtures(prefer new), cabinets, insulation, possibly flooring. Windows(I'd need to measure for size). Other items?

I might also be interested in tools/equipment, lifts, etc. Or a high-end PC, or even home-recording/studio gear.

Here's an album of pics, as well as some vintage motorsports pics. Photobucket link

Bless you for being too far away! I have this secret desire to own all three GM drivetrain experiments for the '61 model year. I have a '61 Olds F-85 (front engine, front trans) so I need a Tempest (front engine, rear trans) and a Corvair (rear engine, rear trans).

My buddy had a later tempest lemans that had the 6-cylinder OHC model. The engine looked kinda cool, but all the muscle car guys laughed and told him to rip it out and put in a "real" engine. It looked almost like this one too.

Pics of the building? It sounds cool. At this point I need 8800 sq ft as well.

I'll get some pics & maybe a walk-thru of the building and post them up, but it probably won't be until next week.

I thought all Chevy IIs were 6 cylinders.

The Tempest has the tranny where the traditional differential is in the rear axle, also has the cool little shifter on the dash like a Corvair.

It's called the Indy-4 and is 1/2 of a 389 V8. It shares heads, header, pistons, rods and a few other bits with V8 too.

914... thats an amusing read... sad that that "big car" weighs less then most "light weight cars" these days 110hp - 190hp options thats neat... then looking though the list of "options" is awesome :)...

anyway to the OP... very kewl looking car... i'd love something along those lines one day :)... but now isn't that day :(
