Seller said: 1963 Ford Consul Capri. My intentions were to clean it up a little and put a 302 in it. This car was made in Britain by Ford. Not another for sale anywhere except ebay in Australia. I have a unexpected project coming up next week and could use the money. The 302 has been sold. Just need the car gone. Will not be around my computer so it is easier to text or call. Blimey, that's a pretty rare find, even over here. They didn't sell too well in the UK so Ford didn't make them that long.

It reminds me of an oddly proportioned Volvo 1800.

IIRC they were closely related to the Falcon underneath.

It looks like a 2nd gen thunderbird and a volvo p1800 had a little runt of an offspring.

There's a good article on these Consul Capris in the August edition of Practical Classics magazine. Typical 60s rust issues. It's probably more closely related to a Cortina or earlier Anglia than a Falcon, I suspect. Someone buy it and cut out the floor. Transfer the shell onto a Miata floorpan and voila, wierd looking GT !! If you want a really odd version of it find a 4 door version. It had the reverse sloping rear window ,like a 63 Mercury.

when I spent a semester abroad in the UK, our charter bus driver when we went to scotland was telling me about a 450 hp mid 60's capri he had. Said he swapped in a big block and used to street race it for money.

Ya know,,,, If you did it up right and squinted just right, it looks like a 1/2 scale '60 Starliner.Some 17s and a surperchaged Miata mill and it would ready for the Woodward Dream Cruise !

Look at the compound radii windshield corners.

Now imagine finding a replacement. Yikes !!

Can a local glass store make a mold off of a spider-cracked windshield and produce a one-off piece?

From my understanding, such things are usually more like a $30k for a min order of 20 type of thing, but i may be wrong.

I bought it recently and have then found a leak in my shower behind my tile that my insurance won't cover so I need some money up to redo my tile. Don't really want to sell. If it doesn't sell by the weekend then I will keep it. It has the original drivetrain....4cyl 1500 cc engine...4 lug set up. Car is a project car that needs work. Yes it has rust....glass is good.... Most of the chrome is in the trunk. This is a rare car. I was going to just tinker around with it and put a 302 or 289 in it or something; but had a bad leak behind my tile in my shower and need some extra money.
