I have a corvair for sale in Red Lion, Pa (outside of york). It is an automatic and has a lm 110 in it. The motor runs but the car has no brakes. The floors need repaired but I have the metal to fix them. There is also some other minor rust. The car was bought at an estate sale and has around 75,000 original miles. It doesn't have seats or carpet but the rest of the interior is clean and original. Most of the paint is original and it has no major impact damage. I also have a few boxes of spare parts for the car. I am looking to get $800 obo. I can get seats for an extra $200.

You can see pictures in it's readers rides.

Trying to boost sales, Ratghia.

Edit: For those folks on the fence, would you consider trades, bartering or anything?

I can't trade for a car because I just bought a ghia and need the room.

I might be interested a partial trade for 4x130 pattern wheels, 4.5 or 5.5 fuchs, narrowed ball joint beams, or vintage speed items for a Volkswagen (treuhaft, deano dynosoar, race trim, small car specialties, or og empi/scat/bugpack) I figured this is a long shot but hey why not.

If someone would relieve me of a gutted Metro with a Caddy V8 in the back seat, I'd be there this weekend.

Dan, Dan, Dan, you're starting to sound like Quasi Mofo, bailing out on a current project because you get bonerized over the potential of some new project, only to bail out on that one when you get bonerized over something else.

On behalf of all Corvair fans, I must urge you to stay away. Stay far far away.

No, no,nononoonoono. No. I know you get all warm and runny when it comes to Corvairs Angry, but I can do this. You even said yourself don't berkely with wagons, it's OK to sodomize something else, but wagons are a rare breed. (or words to that effect).

The Metro requires some engineering right now that may be over my head, seriously, I think I'm in trouble here. The Corvair frame under has been done before by many people and I know what I did wrong. Next time it won't happen.

Aside from the Corvair what other projects did I Quasi-Mofo on?

I'm a head case, but I'm not that flighty.

Dan

Engineering miscalculation. Learning curves don't count.

If you learned something from the cars above, I wouldn't hold it against you.

did QM learn anything from the cars above? he learned the same thing from each one:

OMGWTF is that over there? i should sell whatever it is that i've managed to collect for my current hare-brained scheme and buy whatever that thing over there is, because it's got at least 250% more awesome in it.

I only know of three projects that Dan has bailed on or pushed aside: the corvair wagon, the E30, and the bobber.

I just threw my comment out there so Dan would know that we're watching. and counting. and silently judging. and hoping that he doesn't slide farther down the slope into QMdom.

No QMs or Dans were injured during the posting of this reply.

You are right P, AND Dan knows it too I like to dabble in the idiocy of inconsequential irony for an occasional chuckle. Dan is a great guy and a joy to talk to and I like screwing around. We all know I had three issues over the last 5 years when it comes to projects:

1: Rose colored glasses make me think every project I get my hands on is AWESOME!!!

2: Rose colored perifial vision makes me thaink the project over there is MOAR AWESOME!!!

3: I am an idiot.

Actually I think we can pare the problem down to a single factor can't we?

Hey I learned something!

Thanks Guys!

Someone buy this Corvair, it REALLY is a cooler project than a RallyBeetle

An Early would be easy to Swap a Subie Motor into with a kennedy Plate and VW Tranny. Shift linkage is nearly the same, clutch is cable operated.

or an LS1 I saw some crazy people do that before.

And I didn't bail on the E30, it hit the street running.
