1971 4wd GMC Suburban in Chicago

Okay, I REALLY want that GLHS...

1971 GMC 1/2 ton Suburban.

Tailgate, 350/TH350, PS, PB. Not much else. Originally had a third row seat, but not anymore. No need for this one now that I have the DieselBurb. Runs great, and I would drive (and have) most anywhere. Not the best long distance hauler, though, and that is what I have been doing more of lately, and I really want that GLHS for my Rampage swap. Trying to maintain a one in, one out kinda philosophy lately so it needs to go, as well.

Pix from when I picked it up earlier this year (in a snowstorm in Grand Rapids, MI, no less) Drove great all the way home to Chicago. Has a few patches welded in, and you're going to need a few more.

The amount of WANT cannot be measured for this rig. That is a junkyard TBI manifold swap away from being a sweet tow rig.

I can see some of the rocker rust in the pics, but what about the floors and frame?

Let me get some current pix. Frame is rock solid, but the driver's floor will need help. Rear body crossmember (Not frame, but the panel under the tail gate) needs to be replaced or rebuilt. tail gate still works, but you can see through the crossmember.

Is the damage around the rear tailight from an accident or rust?

Are the other patches along the bottom done fairly well or do they need attention. I really like this, but being 7 hours away is tough.

The tail light damage is from an accident. The patches appear to be decent- but not show quality. I bought it from a bodyman that was setting it up to use at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Mostly for profiling, I would assume.

The GMC dual headlight grill and lights are one of my favorite looking front ends.

When Carrie Underwood sings "Before He Cheats" - I imagine this is the era of truck she is damaging.

Oh yeah, 3-door Suburbans are really cool.
