1990 CIvic Si in MO-$1000

EDIT 3/16/12-NEW PRICE $650-rolling on 13" steels with iffy tires, and I'm keeping the CD player.

The wheels in the pics do not come with the car.

I have a red 1990 Honda Civic Si hatch for sale. I bought it as a Challenge project, and that's how I'm gonna sell it, I guess.

The car has 163k miles. Runs and drives good, but the transmission makes noise. The throwout bearing is intermittently noisy, and there's a constant whine that I think might be the input shaft bearing. The PO told me that it had been doing that for quite a while. I do have a used Si trans that comes with that is supposed to be good and has an OBX LSD installed, it WILL come with the car for the $650.

Car has some performance upgrades. has aNology CAI, DC sports header and some kind of catback. Tokico Blues on (I believe) Eibach lowering springs. I have a set of Hawk HPS pads for the front that have not yet been installed.

Comes with a new radiator (although the old one seems fine, it was in the car when I got it). Also comes with two new rotors (again, in the car when I got it, although I think it's due). Has a set of the adjustable turnbuckle tie-rod ends for correcting the camber after lowering, although they haven't been installed.

Interior is a little sun-faded and beat. Both front seats need recovering, dash is cracked, sunroof is siliconed shut. Has a nice Alpine CD player (NOT ANYMORE, IT DOESN'T) with aftermarket speakers (still there). Windshield has a small crack in one corner that should pass MO inspection. Can't speak for any other state. A/C appears to all be present, but per the previous owner the compressor is frozen. Battery is dead.

Car is pretty straight, but paint is shot. Has Honda rust over the RR wheel, but the left side is still good. I have the patch panel for the RR quarter that will come with the sale.

Car will be rolling on 13" steels with off-brand tires. They might pass inspection, but they're pretty dubious IMHO.

Clear title in the PO's name. This could make a great challenge car or a fun beater for someone with very little time and money invested.

Didn't make it home until after dark last night, so no pics yet. I'll try to take some when I get home tonight, but the way my day is going, it's going to be another long day.

Wow. If you're in MO and don't buy this, you are an idiot. Why would you even need pics!?

If only I had time for a cross country road trip of epic proportions I could really go for this, what a deal. Take a bus out and drive back the long way....... Epic.

Oh, and just to be clear, I wouldn't try to drive this thing any distance further than 20 miles. Brakes are spongy, trans could let go anytime and it's been sitting since Smarch or thereabouts.

That said, if one of you yahoos does want to chance it, I'm happy to pick someone up at the bus station (Megabus goes through Columbia) and/or do a brake job in my driveway....although I might require some extra liquid persuasion to do that.

I have a group wanting to do the challenge and this may be a good start. Get me pics and I will see if we are interested. We are in central Il.

Pics are up. The wheels that are on the car (and the two in the backseat don't go with unless you really want to try and talk me out of them.

The shot of the LF corner is the only real body damage on the car...it's a small rub in the panel that fits between and under the headlights.

I can take pictures of specific stuff if people are interested. Just let me know.

Rims are gray Kosei K1-TS (split six-spoke) 14x7 (I think they're seven wide, don't quote me). 750 no rims...I think I have a set of junk 13" steels with crap tires that I'll put on there, but I wouldn't drive on them. Anyone know if 13s will clear the brakes on this thing?

I would but 4 birthdays, 4 holidays and 2 road trips have me cash strapped till uncle sam says I can have my money back.

Neglected to mention, I'm interested in some trades:

LSx/T56 stuff, a 5.0/T5 drivetrain from a Mustang, Miata turbo bits, or (random) an '86-92 Turbo Supra, must be 5-speed, engine and body condition unimportant.
