2000 Civic HX cert of destruction

I have a 2000 Civic HX that had a tree fall across the roof. The car is very driveable, insurance company did total loss with certificate of destruction as it had too much detail work to repair. Both roof pillars are crimped, roof pushed in, all glass intact,small dents on quarter panel. Car has 158,000 on it, new cat/sensor, egr, cleaned out intake all 12000 miles ago. Drove car to Miami and Atlanta from Tallahassee before submitting to total, and after 4 months of fighting insurance company. 45mpg hwy. Lots of good parts, will part out or need to find someone interested in it for a 2009 challenge car. I am keeping HX stock rims and seats. Gauge cluster donated to codrivers new ride. what motor/tranny combo does it have? Might be interested in the radiator, and hoses.

If it has the CVT, I might be interested in that.

D16Y5, VTEC-E, manual 5 spd, need to get this thing out of parking lot as landlord about to pressure me. Trouble finding storage for dismantle. Would rather sell whole, but if a couple people who know each other want it, come buy it and haul it away and split it up at your convenience. Excellent motor, most all parts in great shape. I am considering putting on craigslist and setting a weekend for everyone interested to come over and dismantle. Sort of a yard sale. Just curious, why would you want the CVT? I have heard nothing but complaints about it. Enlighten me pls...

To take it apart and see if there's a way to make it suck less. If it can suck less enough, use it in the racecar.

good answer. I met someone in 2000 and spoke with them about their Civic with that tranny. 6 months and they had it replaced twice. What was Honda thinking?

No, just a stock HX, black, may have engine sold here in Tallahassee, body great for racer. Will post later if engine sells.
