I better see at least 50% of cars running the drag races with underglow.
For anyone looking for a project. I have an '87 GTA, a 4.3 LT motor, and a car phone taking up space in my shop. I have the 16" gold lace wheels too.

ohhhh 87 GTA would be sickkkkk. pace car replica?

Just a standard slick top Fire red car with red interior and a digital dash. Was a 350tpi auto car. I still have the motor in pieces but not the trans. It's definitely a project and I'm focused on my Caprice as far as doing a major build right now. It's still listed in the for sale section and I would let it go unreasonably cheap if it was for a challenge build.

If you find a Gyro, let me know.
My brother is working on an e30 with an e36 motor...which was a popular swap back in the 90s when we were living in NY
We are in
Minitruck, sawblades, dancing beds, triple axle swaps, snugtops...
pastel turquoise checkerboard paint jobs with some kind of purple fade...
Im in.

I also want to see a duster turbo and AWD Tempo with a manual transmission.
Oh I know the Westside dudes could do it- pretty sure I saw em do it about this many years ago, in fact.
In reply to captdownshift :
Hey, I managed to run one for 2 years and 31K miles before the transmission grenaded itself down the highway. haha. I'd love to do another one. hummmm. If I can only find a 4G colt or Mirage.

I will bring my $2008 Challenge Car (Exhibition Class) in honour of the 2020 Radwood Class....it may even have some period correct WRC livery by then.

I still look here every once in awhile. Been looking for a 84 Colt GTS with the twin stick for over 10 years now.

Or mafia inspired s600?
I'll bring the chronic
Late 90s makes me picture mini trucks with crazy paint and fiberglass sound system enclosures built into the bed.
In reply to pimpm3 :
Agreed-keep engine swaps period correct. Not hard to do, and will really boost authenticity.
Not a fan of limiting the EFI to late 90's. The stuff that came out in the early 2000s is visually identical and makes turbo Hondas much less explody.
I may be biased in my reccomendations...
Ahem the turbo honda with the broken engine was properly tuned. The turbo honda with the broken transmission had an FPR and a hood version of an AFC both 90s correct.
Can we find somebody involved with the actual Radwood shows to add some perspective? What's more "Rad" minty CRX? Lowrider? Testerossa made of cardboard? Special class based around a car show is probably going to be heavily concours dependent some pointers would be welcome
In reply to Byrneon27 :
Maybe the magazine can reach out to the folks who started the radwood show and perhaps talk one of them into being a guest judge.
In reply to pimpm3 :
Radwood, which seems to be a play on The GoodWood Festival of Speed and the '80's word Radical was started by a guy who was very active on GRM a long time ago.
Back from the day when he had a '92 Maroon Crown Vic... maroon92
The office might consider if there is a cross opportunity here for a Radwood Gainesville Festival that could happen simultaneously. I could envision more spectators at The Challenge if lets say there was a Radwood show that Saturday at the dragway in the sun while the Challenge cars were separately being shown under the pavilion

Good find!
Just last week I locally came across this... The price is too high but maybe once the snow flies the ad will grow old and grow cheaper. https://sandusky.craigslist.org/cto/d/vermilion-chevy-sprint-turbo/7001048709.html
dammit just a few months ago i sold a set of 3-spoke BMW wheels cheap cheap cheap. these would have been perfect on a pastel E30 with Kamei body kit.
sucks my next challenge car will be a 2000. just out of reach for this class. i still might do a 2000 Cobra R replica.
