Stupid question: Whats the difference between the Impala and Caprice in these years? I had previously thought the Impala was the two door model of the Caprice, but obviously was wrong.

I'm pretty sure the Impala was the downmarket model, and the Caprice Classic was the fancier trim model. Also, the Caprices usually came with 350cid motors, while the Impalas made due with the 305. You can tell the difference because the Caprices had a stand up hood ornament, and fancier interiors.
