I have for sale a 1984 Rabbit GTI with a 2.0 16v that came from a 91 GTI. It is a complete swap with ignition, fuel injection, close ratio trans and 10" front brakes with drilled/slotted Brembo rotors and new EBC Yellow Stuff pads. It also has stainless braided brake lines front and back. The rear brakes are upgraded(larger than stock) drums. It also has stainless braided brake lines front and back.
An Autotech short shift kit is installed along with a Neuspeed weighted arm, it reduces both throw and side to side travel and is adjustable.
The suspension consists of Neuspeed race springs and Boge Turbo Red struts and shocks. There is also an Autotech rear strut brace installed as well.
The exhaust consists of a Techtonics Tuning race downpipe and full 2" aluminized exhaust.
The exterior consists of Hella H4 headlights and Euro bumpers.
The interior consists of a very clean dashboard, the front seats are from a G60 Corrado with the driver's side being in rough shape and the passenger side in good condition. There is no back seat, carpet or headliner.
That's all the good, here comes the bad. There is some rust on the car, but it isn't horrible and is very fixable, really not all that bad for a 25 year old Rabbit. The car also has a high idle due to old cracked vac lines.
Other than that, the car runs and drives great. It is fast, handles great, and stops really well also. You can literally throw it from turn to turn, the suspension really works and the brakes really stop the car. The 2.0 16v motor and 5 speed trans get it going in a hurry as well. This is a no frills type of car. No A/C, no PS, no power anything really just quick and light.
