I have a 5 speed 89 CRX DX with around 127K miles on it. The body of the car is in decent shape, the problem areas being rust in the quarter panels and the driver's fender has rust and a dent in it. The paint isn't too bad aside from the hood, where it's pretty faded. The floorpans are solid. There is a small crack in the windshield in front of the driver's seat. It does not obstruct vision. It has a factory honda radio but i don't have the security code for it so i'm not sure whether or not it works. Transmission seems decent, it grinds when downshifting into second but that's about it. Previous owner claims it had a new clutch put in it around 122K, i can't verify but have no reason to doubt either.

The interior is good except for the seats, which are pretty torn and have seat covers on them. The rear interior is complete and in good shape.

Mechanically the car runs good but does use oil. I'd say i use a quart every month or so. The driver's side CV boot needs replaced and the front struts are creaky. The starter is also a little wonky, it starts a bit hard when the car is warm but it does always start. The car has a nearly new exhaust and a new main relay a purchased from honda. The check engine light comes on after 5 or so minutes of driving but doesn't seem to affect anything. The car does start every time and has never left me stranded.

I average around 40mpg. This car has been dead reliable since i bought it. Would make a great beater. I appear to be the second owner FWIW.

Any idea what the CEL is all about?

If you have a repair manual for it and you want to find out what the "CEL" code is . Pull the passenger side floor carpet down from the fire wall turn the car on let the "CEL" come on and then count the red flashes on the ECU . There will be a small 3/8" diameter clear window on the ECU cover plate . The # of flashes will coincide with a problem that the computer is picking up on . For example 17 flashes is a speed sensor code . Count the flashes a couple times to either make sure that you have counted correctly or also to insure there isn't multiple codes t is relaying . Long winded I know sorry . Hope this helps .
