Going into a Maryland winter with over 300k on the clock?
No

Geez people, its an early Miata. Failure points will be cooling system(as in neglected old hoses, that's all I mean) / idle controls / 3rd gear synchro / soft top/ crank pulley. All of which are possible at 150k, 300k or 450k. The miles shouldn't be a factor to the GRM community. I still wish I had an excuse to grab it because the mileage is a cool novelty.
I'm somewhat local and wouldn't mind having it, but I'm saving for a move right now and I just can't justify it.
The miles wouldn't worry me a bit.
But we aren't the one he is complaining about. He has it posted local. My comment was referring to why it wasn't selling.
Spring rolls around, he could $1k for it. Going into winter for the average person shopping in that price range, nope.
That's all I was saying.
Drove past it parked at the road with a For Sale sign on it this weekend. If I had any excuse or spousal permission for a Miata, I'd buy it. Miles don't scare me. A good used 1.6 and trans is under $1000 with half the miles on it. The rust doesn't seem bad at all. You can pretty much keep this car running forever if you keep the rust at bay.

Your offer was not even considered. Especially the way you delivered it.
It wasn't an offer. It was an honest question as to the offers you've received. My wife would make me sleep in it if I were to bring another car home.
Sorry. I'd just gotten a really arrogant and snotty $500 offer from some tool via text message. The way your post read to me was like you were that tool. I'm very glad i was wrong, and apologize for my mistake.
The funniest was watching a guy work his way up to offering $350. He started at $200. Um, No!
Maybe I'm not asking enough. Dunno. I've never listed something for sale and gotten less interest. Not a single person has ever even come over for a test drive.
I guess I'll retry in the spring, but maybe at tripple the price, and not say a word about the mileage.
Or, i'll just keep it. Its an seductively sweet driver. It's everything my Spitfire wishes it was, with air conditioning.
I just think you have a very limited audience. Between the rust and miles, most people will think they can hammer you on the price. I say, set your limits and be patient. Craigs will always test that patience. Man, will it ever. Don't worry, I wasn't insulted.
