I know we are all car guys, but who knows......

Recently some scumbags stole the outboard motor off of my boat while it was parked in my backyard. Even though I've filed a report with Johnny Law, I don't expect to ever see that little 15hp Merc again. Too bad because it ran like a champ, and moved my 15ft fiberglass boat well enough.

So now I'm in the market for a 15-20 hp outboard. I don't need steering controls, as my boat doesn't have a steering wheel. Please contact me if any of you have one you would like to unload. I'm hoping to spend $500-$800 for a good running, complete, used outboard.

I'll be traveling a bunch this summer, so chances are I'll be able to pick up in person.

Thanks in advance for your help

Not sure where you live, but I know where there are a couple older (70's) motors in my dad's garage. One is a very nice condition Johnson 20 with a longshaft conversion. The other is a well-used 25 hp Evinrude with an 18hp cowl on it.

That's in PA.

Just a note, your boat can only take up to a 25 horse. Wouldn't want to break off the transom.

In SC you have to have a title for an boat motor over 5hp. How would anybody be able to use it, unless for parts?

Well, they didn't have a problem breaking the law by stealing it off of my boat. They probably won't have a problem running it illegally either.

Although in FLA, you need a title for the boat, but not the motor I believe.
