Damn! The Kammbacks are the rarest of Eagles. They only made 6,000 or so of them. There's probably not many left.
More info than you could ever want to know about Eagles is here:

That looks like fun. They dont really run well enough to be worht driving unless you remove all the smog equipment though right?

The stock carb is really the main culprit. Even with it on, they are torquey, and fun in a "nothing can stand in my way" sort of way. They are kind of like driving an aircooled VW in a way. Slow, but so different and weird, that the experience is fun.
They are also really capable off road.
same problems the jeeps have. Replace the carter carb with a motorcraft, holley, weber or just about anything and you'll have a more reliable vehicle. there is also a thing called the "nutter bypass" which will make a carter carb function a bit better. The motorcraft 2150(I think) is pretty common junkyards and bolts right on...and makes a world of difference.
sachilles speaks the truth
Ever since I changed out the carb on my Eagle it has run like a champ. The 4.2 straight six is a nearly indestructible torque beast. The head doesn't flow the best, but there are options for much, much more power. (H.O. 4.0 liter head swap/ motor swap, V8 swaps, etc.) Even so, with just the new carb my Eagle is powerful enough to be entertaining, and you can tow 3000lbs or so.
Hmm so basicly they arent worth driving in any form that would pass a visual emissions equipment inspection in california? Thats kida too bad, i bet they would be fun.

You think the visual inspections crew could tell if you swapped the old OE carb for another old OE carb?!? I know they call them smog nazis, but I didn't know they were that good!

Hmm well if you could hook up all the vaccum stuff the same it would probably be ok, but yea most of the time they notice otherwise. Most 80s carbed cars have disapeared here because of that.
the ride height on that thing reminds me strongly of the delorean in bttf3 when he goes back to the 1800s

or you could save the oem carb for inspection day and use the motorcraft/weber/other carb for the rest of the time. you will be making the smog nazis happy and combusting your fuel more cleanly the rest of the time. better yet, you could swap in a 4.0 efi engine from a jeep, as long as the smog nazis regognize that swap, but that I don't know for sure.
