Not mine but if I were closer I would buy it.

Saturday morning 31 Jan, this car is still available and I'm not buying it so here are the details I just got from seller. he didn't sound like a car guy, and he's selling the car for a female friend whose husband just died. sounds like it was his race project that never got finished.
Car is in Pasadena MD.
sounds like a killer start to a Challenge car. whoever from this board buys it should seriously consider giving me a little something, you know, for the effort.

if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.
i've got the cash, but can't convince my wife that this is the best place to spend it since i'm unemployed, LOL.

That's like saying leaning over and picking up a stack of hundreds sitting on the sidewalk in front of you isn't the best use of your time right now because you're unemployed. I'm unemployed too, but I know I could turn that $1600 into at least $2600 with a couple days' effort, so if it were in my area I'd buy it anyway.
ARRRGGG!!!! I'm rethinking my new DD in hopes of using you guys to help me find a miata, preferably $1-1.5K, withing a days drive of me. i just need to stay calm till the tax returns come in

That's probably closer to the truth. I could come up with $1600.
Problem is also that it's 12 hours away.

I don't know about where you are but we don't have $1500 Miatas where I am. The closest I've found here is a $1000 Miata that was trash and had no title.
I'm actually wanting hold out and get a 1.8, i'm not really fussed about waiting and paying a little more to get exactly what i want.
That one was just priced good enough that i would have bought it anyways.
We have $1500 miatas here on occasion. I haven't paid more than $750 for a car in this state in years.

all i need to do now is get my wife to read this post and i'll be all set.
Maybe I should tell you about the $225 Miata I got a while back. Nah.... I have cash, but I'm in Georgia, and I just made a road trip for an old RX-7. I'd get shot dead.
