Granted it is a Renault Alliance...

At 25 years old is an Alliance like this qualified for Vintage Racing?
Aside from the whole Renault-ness this car looks to be pretty 'track-ready."
Nashco has a trailer and is easily bribed
Also a road trip (fly out, drive back) would make a great article.
You know you want this

Unfortunately, I'm not up for any adventures like that right now. I just sold the Soyburban to free up some driveway space and time is hard to find these days...I've got a challenge car to build!

Oh my, the topic of Renault race cars force me to shamefully acknowledge what I own, and the fact that it sits alone in the garage, almost totally untouched...

I have also contemplated this, why?
Lots of road courses up here in a fairly small radius plus tons of drag strips. It's like a little racing "micro-climate" here. LOTS of old race cars, sports cars, and what not come out of the woodwork here. Last year they found the prototype AMX/3!
I think also there is something about the whole Portland vibe that makes you want to dd a Volvo 122 or something. Of course if you dd a 122 you're race car will be equally as eccentric.

Guilty as charged.

I don't see your 53 car, although there's a red 53 driven by Dan Hill though. Did yours spend any time in SCCA IT? I recall seeing a few survivors here in SEDIV back when I started working corners..they ran in ITC, I think.
^Cool. Those little Renault 5's barreling around a racetrack look almost as comical as Citroen 2CV's battling it out.
Renault or no, that is a clean car for the money. If it were in Michigan I'd probably be very tempted.
