Why wait until the week before the Challenge to begin your car.
Get a head start on the $2009 Challenge and maybe you'll have a chance to win!
I have a 77 280 Z that was supposed to be my son's first car. It was lovingly selected to be straight, true, no crumpled roofline and absolutely minimal rust. It has been stripped and prepped for re assembly but about that time he got his license. You can guess the rest of the story.
All suspension pieces have been taken off, blasted and repainted. All bushings have been removed and I have a complete set of Energy suspension bushings.
The struts have been shortened, Ground Control coilovers, and Tokico Illumina shocks have been installed.
The body has been sanded baby butt smooth and is ready for paint.
I have NOS never hardly been sat in factory seats. I have a new dash with all instrumentation.
The engine was strong & "ran when parked" :)
I honestly don't remember if it is a 4 speed or a 5 speed, but I think it is 5 speed.
Not counting the time, I have well over $4,000 invested in this beauty.
At this stage all you have to do is slap a roll cage in it, drop in the engine of your choice and begin the doll up process. This is almost too easy to be a Challenge car.
Zs tend to be strong contenders due to all the engine compartment room, excellent handling and light weight. Plus there's a world of aftermarket support.
There are enough good pieces to sell off to recoup most if not all of your $$$ if you choose to make it more of a race car theme with a stripped interior &/or swap engines.
I even have a new '04 S2000 motor and tranny with 7 miles on it if you wanted to go that way.
PM me for pics. It is simply too hard to post pics on this forum.
$1,999 OBO (no, the S2000 motor is NOT included)
