We're kicking the Neon loose—its last installment is in the October issue of GRM. See the project car page for all of the sordid details on what's been done. Short story: ACR with a Quaife, cams, etc.
The price is $2009 without the Bridgestone RE01R tires and XXR wheels. Those are an additional $491 for the set. If you buy the package with the wheels, I'll also throw in a set of rally tires and stock wheels.
Bottom line, 2500 buys everything, but I'll be 'sneaky' and price it so it's Ok here :-)

That's a great deal! Location, location, location. Just wanted to be the first to say, "I'd buy it if only it was closer/cheaper/better/faster/next month/etc."
Bryce
Wow. That seems reallllllly cheap.

It is. Neon's aren't worth much, even when built. Sad, but true. Fast car for peanuts though.

I like the price. It ALMOST makes me wish i hadn't just bought the MX6.
ill try to talk my lil bro into this...

Oh, and no trades, I've got a new project car lined up that I'd like to roll into asap.
My driveway and personal checking account has a finite amount of room and I'm actually one over my 'happy wife' quota:
Right now, we've got the Odyssey, Clubman, LeGrand, enclosed trailer, Saab (hopefully selling via ebay), Neon (hopefully selling via this ad) and the 'new' VW that I'm trying to buy.

Hmm, you guys play by different rules. I got a rule clarification in the past that trailers don't count, as long as there is a vehicle inside of/on top of it. It's in the subsection of the driveway space clause. I'm guessing you've already tried and been denied since you mention it.
With that said, I haven't capitalized on the trailer exemption, as it requires a tow vehicle. I got rid of the tow vehicle to stay within my quota when getting the Sky.

Yea, the LeGrand is living in my garage right now---the trailer is just holding the bodywork. Not enough to count with that math.

Even when they've been built over and over again
The key to making the wife accept the projects is to build one for her. Now I get in trouble if I'm not working in the garage.

I think I've exorcized all of its demons. Or at least a significant percentage of them.

I've been doing some evaluation on the car (to keep it out of Per's driveway, of course ) and I'm totally in love with it. I'd buy it myself if I didn't have the Subaru Battle Wagon to sell first.
Worth every penny of the asking price.

Speaking of which, does anyone want a Legacy Outback with less than 100k miles for $2500? Tom's selling one!
It's an auto...but otherwise clean!

I'll help you sell it... Cheap to buy, cheap to buy parts for, plenty of aftermarket stuff, easy to work on. Room for 6'2" driver and helmet. One of the quicker NA small cars at any price.
I've found that there's quite a few interesting neons for sale now that i'm not searching for one and have all my funding tied up in the miata.
