I'm only posting because this has happened to a few event organizer friends of mine.
Car broke? Flew in to buy a last-chance Challenger, and don't want to drive it home? Just in an abandon-y mood?
DO NOT LEAVE IT AT THE TRACK.
It is your responsibility to take a car with you on Saturday afternoon. It doesn't have to be your car, but there needs to be a 1:1 ratio of cars brought and cars removed. Same rule goes for the hotel parking lot.
Here's your loophole: I'll personally buy any Challenge car parked in the hotel lot for $1 on Saturday night, and handle removing it on Sunday.
Thanks, everybody!
It’s very hard as a car hoarder to not start a bidding war with you
I live in Gainesville and own a car trailer!

Wait a minute Tommy. I was very happy to sell the probe that one year...
Will you buy it at the track for $1? or does it need to make it to the hotel?
More details on this event with cars left behind. Sounds like a good buying opportunity for next year.
In reply to Andy Neuman :
Too busy running the event on Saturday, so I can't buy at the track. Sorry!
In reply to pimpm3 :
My $1 bid lost to a $3200 bid if I remember correctly....
Can I leave broken engine internals at the track or do they have to make it back to the hotel too?

Basically, what percentage of the car is required to leave? ;)

Some interesting stuff has been left in the track’s trash cans
In reply to Patrick :
I've gotten some good free stuff from the tracks trash cans.
One of my favorite sights at the Gatornationals was a ten year old boy heading to the parking lot rolling a single worn out slick.
The look on his face was priceless, you would think someone had given him a gold brick.
I'm open to trade offers if anyone wants my hooptie after the event. It will have to be a functional car in return though, so I can get home.

I am not bringing a car, but I might be willing to bring an empty car trailer.
Perhaps I could lend some assistance…

I propose an abandoned car class at the 2020 Challenge!
It's funny you need to announce this.
Hmm. This has me thinking. I’m inclined to keep my truck when the Challenge is over, but maybe I’ll bring my title in case a good trade comes up.
Hmm...so we can’t leave abandoned cars at the track or hotel, but there’s what, 10-miles or so between the two? I know there’s at least a couple car lots. Drop a car out back & they might not even notice it for few days.

All I ever got was some cheese fries with a footprint in them.

Walmart. They'll never notice.

I dunno, that Walmart kinda near the track is upper-class by Mississippi standards.

What percentage of a car is all the VIN plates?

Pending the answer to this question, some sarcastic SOB is totally going to pile VIN plates on Tommy's desk now.
