I really want to, but the timing is terrible.

Not mine, no affiliation, blah, blah.

I was just about to post this as well...in fact the URL is just a CTRL-V away from appearing.

I love these cares. This one looks a little on the rusty side though. I might go look at it just for fun on my way home today, but it is a project that I cannot tackle at this time.

I wonder if he is selling the Bayliner in the background too.

I love old Bayliners.

The car is rusty, but looks salvagable. It has an automatic. The engine is not in the car, but the guy claims it is down the street at his mechanics shop and comes with the car as long as you go pick it up.

The glass is good. No bumpers. While I was there another guy came and based on their discussions I am confident that $500 is enough to make this car yours.

There is a lot of rust underneath and I would like to see what is left after being blasted.

Bayliner is also for sale - there was someone looking at it while I was looking at the Bimmer. link

Love that vintage BMW's. I had a 2002 years ago. Great car...

I already have one of those. I would like to find one a lilttle bit bigger with a small cabin.

The interior looked complete. The leather is old and ripped/worn at the top of the rear seat.

The spare is in the trunk - full size with matching wheel.

There is a big snakeskin on the floorboard behind the passenger seat - no idea where the snake is.

There are some pieces parts laying in the backseat - looks like one of the headlight surrounds and some trim. Other headlight surround and headlights AWOL.

Toolkit is still in the truck and looks to be complete minus some pliers which have been replaced by some slip joint ones. Even has three spare spark plugs and some feeler gages in there. All the tools are a little rusty.

From what I could tell the rear strut towers seem ok, but I didn't remove all the trunk trim pieces to take a full look,

If you are not scared of some metal work and can make and install patch panels it may be doable.

I can go take some more pics next week for you if you want.

There is a torque converter sitting in the passenger footwell.

No idea of how complete the engine is as far as accessories as the engine compartment is pretty much empty.

i just got an audi quattro driveline that i want to swap into this...maybe with a 32v audi v8, or an LT1...

Hmm. I posted a local CL advert here for a 3.0 CS last year; complete and running with no rust for $1000 and it received no interest.

I've always loved these,

thanks again for the extra info TJ.

OK after doing more research on these, this bimmer is going to work perfect for my GRM $2009. this car should be able to swallow the audi V8 and AWD system, the layout looks perfect. maybe PM me and we can talk a little more about the best way to seal the deal with this guy.

Man, I wish I'd been on here back then. I've wanted an E9 since I was a kid, but I've stayed away from them because I can't do the metalwork.

Restored ones are going in the $20K range right now..

WOW! I love E9s, but I'm no purist when it comes to seeing a ratty one saved when it would otherwise be crushed. If y'all make this happen, you gotta post a build thread somewhere!

It looks interesting in the picture, but the trouble with e9s is they can rust in a lot of places you can't see.

You'll need to log in to post.
