You may already be aware of this, but those engines are priced just a bit beyond what people will be allowed to put on here. I would guess $3k+ I know a couple of people who got 98 tdis for under $2k (both of which are now in mk2 golfs, but even that was an amazing deal. To get a deal like that you have to have your trailer hooked up and ready to go, and keep searching craigslist about once every hour or so, and when you find one tell the seller you are on your way with cash in hand, otherwise it will be gone. lol
