Yeah, you read it right. Somebody swapped an LS1 into a 92 Chevy van. Sounds like a cheap way to get an LS1/auto into a challenge car!

The only thing that is questionable is that the speedometer is not hooked up, nor the tach or anything in the dash due to the engine swap. But yes, this motor was pulled from a Camaro, it is an LS1 350. I was told that the swap was done in 1998
Not likely an LS1, probably an LT1.

Yeah really, If the swap was done in 98, they would have taken the motor out of a brand new camaro. It's possible, but I don't know why anyone would do it.
Yeah, I thought the same thing. But I figured if the guy bought the van just for the engine he would have at least made sure it was an LS1. If he did buy it and found it wasn't an LS1 and then tried to resell it as an LS1... well that's just wrong! Sounds like it would be worth a phone call at least. He can obviously upload pics so one of the engine would answer any questions.
