Would like to get this on my books. For the bike-engined fiat we plan to use a diff carrier and stub axles from an infinity j30. The diff we are using is coming from a team member who used it in his LS-swapped 240sx. I think he paid $100 or $150 for the diff and axles a few yeas back but has since driven it a lot and torched a bearing or something. The diff is broken now (he's broken a few, this one is either missing some teeth on the ring gear or is whining really loudly, he didn't know which was which when we grabbed it from his pile, and I haven't torn it down yet) and he has replaced it with a good one.
My local LKQ shows price of $119.99 + 25 core for an entire IRS rear axle assembly d-to-d. But that would theoretically include disks/hubs/bearings that we aren't using. And that is assuming a used but still working diff. 25.99 for a CV axle. There might be cheaper yards around but that's an easy price list to grab.
So what is FMV on a broken diff and two used CV axles? The diff does have VSLD (which we want) but even working ones are cheap.
Call it $60 for two $25 axles and $10 scrap for the pumpkin? More? Less? What do you think?
