I have returned from inspecting. Everything is crap this week with one exception...

The '99 Q45 w/41k miles is exceptional.

Here is my best guess at the back story:
Grandpa dies. Someone comes into town and has to sort things out. I suspect they go to the garage and the car won't start. There is a brand new AAA brand battery with a manufacture stamp of March '17 so likely not installed until April or May. My guess is when it would not start they called AAA to take care of it.

I'll bet it was donated off because it can be hard or time consuming to sell off a car that you don't own (the dead guy owns) but I'll bet it is easy for the dead guy's estate to donate the car to a charity.
Besides, who would really want to have to drive a 18 year old car? I'll bet it's usafe

There is an oil change tag from the Infiniti dealer that says next change due at 43k miles (the car has current 41k miles). This sticker also says 3-12. I wonder if this means the usual 3 months or 3 k miles for an oil change? Could the oil have last been changed in Dec of 2011 and due again 3 months later in March of 2012?
<img src=" photo IMG_20170526_133052773_HDR_zpsfu67dnlf.jpg" />

Also note that there is a chip in the windshield left of the sticker. Nothing more than a chip.
The oil is at perfect level and exactly as clean as you would expect for 1k miles on it.
The car starts, runs and revs as expected and like a car with 41k miles.

The inside is mint. Tan leather looks very good and every switch and knob works.

The exterior show no visible rust other than slight things like some exposed bolt heads around the wheel wells. I did not crawl under it as it sat in a wet, dirt (mud) lot.

The alloys show their age up close but look good from a distance. The 4 matching high quality tires (Dunlop or Bridgestones) are old but have excellent tread and show no dry rot.

Pat's in the first position on this one since I already have one more Q45 than I really need but if he passes, I might just bid it up to whatever price will keep me under $2017 with fees.
Anyone else interested in a superb hyw cruiser?

I don't have much car funds right now. I want it, but at the same time don't need it.

Jim, it was good talking to you. I am excited by the idea that this might go to a GRM'er. We'll get that bid in sometime late Monday and see how it goes Tuesday morning.
Currently, the car has a $25 bid. The bidding moves in $25 increments. It could be that the current bidder has put in a bid of $2,000 but like ebay, it only goes as high as it has to so right now it is showing a max bid of $25 from that one and only bidder.

Though bidding opens at 9:00 given this cars item number, it will come across more like after 11:00.

Thanks again John, and Pat I will definitely keep you posted. Still kinda in an internal debate on this one. I just bought that Celica for my pops but the Q seems like the ultimate retirement car for him. Then again he's never been a big car kinda guy but my wife certainly wouldn't complain if I stopped bringing down the property values with my P71 and had a DD that the neighbors didnt turn their noses up at. Lots of options to consider but its definitely a car that has my interest.

Side note...if this works out I might have a nice 2001 Ford Crown Vic P71 for sale. Barely broken in with 101k on it the clock.

In reply to John Welsh :

I don't need another Q45 but at the right price I'd be interested.
