1966 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible for sale. Has had a Crown mid-engine conversion with a Camaro 305ci engine. Body needs some work and interior needs complete restoration. Not running at this time. A real screamer when it did!
Many extra parts purchased for restoration included, along with complete Corvair parts and repair manual, plus a series of pamphlets showing restoration ideas.
Will definitely outrun your friend's 67 Camaro!!!! • Location: Blairsville, GA

It deserves more in life than being a cone swatter. Keep it stock(ish) looking and terrorize your loval Subaitchi STEVO crowed at you local HPDE for a serious WTF moment,
Looks like it would get a leeeeetle bit hot in there with the engine running. And very loud. I would LOVE a Corvair convertible, but not something like this...
I always thought that Crown conversion would be better served with Grand National 3.8L goodness just to shorten things up a few inches and give you an excuse to run the exhaust better.

put the engine in a box... with sound deadening.
The folks that put out the Crown kit, also have a custom fiberglass cover available.

Nice! The pictures sure looks solid, and a bargain.
file this under "keeping the dream alive". i checked the link friday and the ad was down, so on saturday i emailed my buddy to make sure his friend got the car. here's how the conversation went:
[him] So he went and got it. Within 6 hours it was being driven to cars and coffee. What a steal.
[me] STFU!! What did it take to get running? I'm so friggin' jealous I'm ready to vomit.
[him] It took a charge on the battery and a good shove to free the brakes...

Wow that's awesome....you just never know.
Damn. I was thinking about that car this weekend when I was at a car show with my son. We were looking at a Corvair and I told him about the Crown conversions and this car in particular. After discussing it, I was ready to drive down and buy it. Then I checked here and it was gone.
