Some have already seen this car in other threads. Just moving all future post and progress affiliated updates of the car to this thread.
Below is a pic of the car as well as a link to a youtube video where i picked it up. This car was used as my starting point to restart my channel. If you're into it, by all means follow along.

Me likey!
Next time my daughter wants to watch "car videos" with me, we will check this out.
* I don't let the kids watch YouTube yet (they're young) unless they are sitting with me. And I only watch "car videos" according to them.
Thanks! im glad some people enjoy it. youtube can be brutal lol
In reply to Robbie :
Be careful. The other day I was looking for 350z stuff on YouTube and ran into a channel that only used the 350z as a prop for soft porn shots of the girl's breasts.
Oh and I'll watch this video tonight hopefully.
Welp, got around to breaking ground on the RX7. Cleaned it out. Repainted floorboards white. Got the car gutted of anything i dont need, installed my seat, and test fitted my drag wheels.
And guys...IM PUMPED!
Let me know f you need any knowledge on these. I race 1 in champcar for the last 10 years. I've done numerous engine swaps.
Watch out for u joint angles When you get to that point. The centerline of the drivetrain is different between piston and rotary engines. I got some tricks to help.

I might just send you a message in a few weeks. I looked at the mounts that ronin speedworks uses and based on their mounting position for their chassis plates is where i will weld in my ls mounts.
Other than that the only thing ill have to dive into is the wheel fitment to see what i can run to maximize contact patch.
I'm running 245 40 15 on a 10 inch wheel. Flares required in front unless you are really good at rolling.
Let me know when you go to play with your clutch and hydraulics. I have some cost savings that work better than the off the shelf swap stuff.
I helped dusterbd with his 3400 swap in a miata. Most stuff is similar. I swapped a 3400 into a 2nd gen.
Knurled is very helpful with rx7 as well.

OK something is wrong here, how can you be painting on the first day of a challenge build. Seriously looks like a great car, very well bought, look forward to seeing it at the challenge.
In reply to wvumtnbkr :
I will be running an auto for the challenge, but post challenge will be going to a t56. So when the time comes ill need to go down the clutch and hydraulics road.
Here is my most recent video on the tube. This includes the pictures shared above.

Picked up.a c4 aluminum driveshaft and a set of quick connects for my front bumper! Waiting on my universal ls mounts to see if i can make them work.
In reply to Javelin :
Thanks! So far so good! Havent seen anything terrible yet! Fingers crossed.
My sad attempt at a how to video. This was installing the cam in my 4.8 ls going into the rx7.

New name for my car. Also will be cutting a few of these out much bigger for items like custom door panels etc. This isnrelatively small. 6"x 3/4" mainly purposed for a stencil. Not bad for a free scrap metal sign that was in the trash. Just modified the lsx logo in cad and cut it on the plasma table.
will probably cut another one as i didnt know the sign was aluminum so the head was way to high on this cut. Which is why it isnt clean like it should be.
Quarantine isnt all bad. Had time to reassemble the rx7 motor. Just waiting on a few things like my fbody pan and its ready for the car.
I just walked in and picked up my phone and clicked on your build thread cause it was on latest...
It took a second for the "rotary" engine I was expecting to register as an LS.
LOL.
Looking good even if it's missing some magic spinning doritos!
In reply to Bent-Valve :
haha i gotta say, the rotary ranks bottom of the list on my favorite engines lol.
Its been a while. Here are some updates.
Fbody oil pan kit installed. Motor and trans to go in the car this week!
Nitrous kit picked up for $125.
Hopefully can have the car running in a few weeks!
The motor is in! The generic ls mounts worked pretty well. I wound up having to design and plasma cut some gussets flr additional support on each side, but i. Happy with how it came out. Now im going to fab something for the transmission mount. Im gling to use the factory txy trans moun location and loop it back around to the trans mount location on the transmission.
Now im also on the hunt for a complete ls1 intake with rails, injectors, and a throttle body. If anyone knows of one or has one for sale please let me know. The cheaper the better for obvious reasons lol.
First placement. Test fitting and alignment.
Decided to welds the mounts tonthe fram rail, just had to trim the other one a quarter inch.
The gussets i made for addition support on the bottom side of fhe mount. This welded to the k member.
Passenger side mount.
Drivers side mount.
Extremely close to the sway bar. But not touching! I will wind up spacing the sway bay away from the frame rail a little as well.
Finally supporting its own weight!
Pushed around back for the night and will do the trans mount soon!
Fantastic progress. Startup in a day or two! Haha

Unfortunately not, BUT i have a lot of stuff moving forward now. Driveshaft measurements. Transmission mount fabrication and install, and then my exhaust. Also bought an ls1 intake today for 210 bucks so i should be able to use my hood now!
Video of the engine install!
