Attempting to polish a turd 101.
When attempting to polish a turd, ensure you are outside, with pkenty of debris and bugs to get into the paint.
Next, use a plethora of equipment from harbor freight. This way, you know you're getting a quality job done right.
Lastly, do all of this deep into the night. To seek full approval from neighbors and family.
P.S. pro tip. Dont look at the radar before you start. It wont rain, its the sunshine state right!?
Flashbacks to 2015, painted the datsun outside at about 11pm with one work light. It came out not horrible, most of the bugs polished out

Its comforting to know there are others who make thensame educated decisions.
Bug werent as big a problem for me as the rain. I am happy to say it does look pretty decent.
Clear is drying. Scuffed and cleared the taillights too. They came out nice. Excited for the finished product.

Im trying. Lots of little things ive done to bring it together. Just hoping it pays off and its fun come raceday.
Currently ironing out the tune with the help of calvin.
Inching along. Tonight the car idled better than it ever has. Started to fit the front bumper and need to still mount my quick release on it.
Wideband came in today and its one of the few new mechanical parts ive purchased on the whole build.
Timeline is tenative but:
Wednesday: graphics
Thursday: exhaust
Friday: track testing
For anyone who watches my youtube channel i will have a "reveal" video. Minly for those who arent on here and have not seen it yet. but it will be a walk around and detailed video of everything that was done.
I am just waiting until im done with the exhaust and the wing. Getting close!
My attempt at bringing this lexan rear window back to life.
Not perfect, but way better than it was.
Todays task is getting the exhaust done. Thanks to living in hotboi capital central florida, it isnt hard to find an exhaust shop with a take off exhaust that a previous owner didnt want.
Here was have a few big peices from a wrx. And upon first look this morning on the lift, should work pretty nicely.
Ill have my wideband in when this is done and then its time to sort the tune and give it the beans. Fingers crossed for eagle screeching power.

I did! thanks to you. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction with the wiring schematics. Got the dome light working too!
Heck, might as well restore it at this point!
Finished product. Took a long time because of the angle of the driver side header, butttt, got er done.
Sounds pretty amazing to me.
Got a lot done today but this is the last task i ended on, making the wing stands. The wing will sit about 18inches up and 5 inches behind the trunk. Putting the leading edge at roof height. There is some adjustability in the angle of attack.
This will be functional for the uatocross portion. But would most likely be more beneficial on a road course. Either way.
Should look sweet!
This is looking amazing and should definitely be a strong contender this year.
What did you do to restore the lexan?
In reply to maschinenbau (I live here) :
Thank you. I spent about 3 hours sanding and wet sanding. Essentially a large headlight restoration. But it quickly hazed again. So im going to wet sand it again and clear coat it.
