Oh god..... i'm putting my celica up for sale.
I NEED that Corolla. I would do bad bad things to that thing.
I've done it. Incredibly easy.
I did it before I had ever done any wrenching. First backyard project as a teen. Just put the 2 cars side by side and started pulling parts off one and bolting to the other.
The car was built for both trannies, so you'll find all the necessary mounting points under the dash for the pedal assemblies and everything.
Oh damn, that makes it very tempting.
Decision tree:
Last minute Lemons Toledo build or 1979 Corolla auto>manual swap...
my wife had 78 SR5 Corolla (yes it was a five speed) it was pretty fast, even on black ice going backwards in to the side of a mountan. I miss that car.

Have you ever daily driven a 70's Toyota with an auto? I have, and it was very sad. I hated going over 45 in that thing. DROOOOOOOONNNNNNNE
It was an awesome car, otherwise. Until I stopped by my dad's place and he backed into it with his Land Rover. My Corolla crumpled up, the Rover had a scratch on the bumper.

Yes I have (and my DD is a '91 LandCruiser which I also hate to take over 45).
I'm talking about that particular car.I'd save the B18/SR20/SBC for something that needs it and just drive that one.
