What's next?
Maybe a Tucker? Probably not possible to find one within budget, though.
Lada? Yugo? How about some flavor of Daihatsu?
Here's one: I will throw in $50 to the charity of choice for the first person who does a functional $2k Challenge version of the Mosler Twinstar. Surely donors and parts are cheap enough now, right?
I think there were two other firsts this year, but I'll need to go back and check some results. First AWD to take an overall win (unless it happened in 2020-23). I'm also thinking this may have been the first year a Colonnade GM competed.

Was the justang not AWD?

I've been trying to track the last whereabouts of the dragonfab Tiburon....for...reasons. Trail seems to go cold around 2014.

But I'll settle for a BRAT.
I believe that was checked off the list with the Baja.

It is very possible it was. Will need someone else to verify as I am not home with my collection of back issues.
Have we seen a Chrysler Maserati thing?
2cv maybe? I feel like there's been motorcycle swapped smarts already. Renaults or old peugots that made it state side?
You guys have found a lot of weird E36 M3 over years, it's really hard to find something that hasn't made an appearance.
In reply to brandonsmash :
Many years ago, a cat named ansonivan brought Durocco, his VW Scirocco version of the mosler twinstar.

The Subaru van was Hayabusa swapped for sure, and holy E36 M3 was it loud.

Specifically it would be neat in an Eldorado. I thought the Twinstar as based on the Cadillac was just absolutely tits 25 years ago, and it would be fun to see a low-buck rendition.

There's a lot of insanely inappropriate charities out there... Off to Marketplace I go. Does it have to be Northstars?

Does not count unless all runs were made with a couple of doll-0ccupied child seats strapped into the rear jump-seats.

Sorry, Hyundai and Tiburon have both already been done.

So has twin engine. But not turbo, and not all at the same time.
While I'm still learning the complete history of the $2000 Challenge, I like the idea of a Chrysler TC by Maserati and 2CV.
And why stop at the 2CV? More funky French cars, please and thank you.
In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :
IIRC, didn't the Durocco retain 2 completely separate shifter mechanisms, and one shifted in reverse?
Ansonivan is the guy that taught me that all 4 wheels don't have to turn at the same speed. Even with different gear ratios, it's still contributing to the final drive.
Or something like that... š¤Ŗ
