I really don't know that anyone can use parts from this thing, but I thought I'd ask before we pull the drivetrain and wheels and scrap it.
A friend of mine wants the engine itself. I'm keeping the wheels. The rest of the bits are up for grabs.
Lots of interior parts in this bag. I haven't looked through all of it. If you need something in particular, ask and I'll check.
Right tail light is gone. ECU is still there.
It hasn't ran since '96, so I don't know if most things work. Most of the fuses are gone so that complicates trying out the electrical bits.
Maybe some parts are worth something to someone. Prices will be low if parts are easy to pull. I'll ship things at your cost. Extra special pricing for challenge usage.
I also have both seats. The driver's seat has a couple of ripped seams. Passenger is fairly nice. I've been using it in the garage.
The brakes worked when we towed it the two miles to my house a couple of weeks ago, amazingly enough.
Location (location, location)....?
I parted a number of MR2's and here is some of what I learned.
My numbers are from over 4 years ago.
Does your car have rear speaker grills in the C-pillars?
Early model and/or low option cars did not get speakers back there. The grills are molded into the curve of the interior plastic. There is no way to add aftermarket grills back there. The way to do it is to get the entire traingular rear-side-window trim out of a car that came with speakers. These trianlge trim pieces will retail for about $50 a pair.
Front speaker grills from the dashboard are popular.
I see you have a front strut brace.
Early models did not get them. Cheap easy upgrade that retails for about $45 on ebay
In the front trunk, the sunroof is designed to rest on the rubber pads of the strut brace. There is a clasp up forward that often goes bad. These are popular.
'87-'89 got different taillights than '85 and'86. Many people used to upgrade to the newer which is very easy but if doing this it requires that you also get the '87+ trunk lock cylinder as well since it is longer.
The pasanger side air vent was updated in '87 and the older car owners liked the look of the new version better. It is a perfect fit but it does require not only the fiberglass piece but the metal piece undernieth it as well.
Ashtrays, if you are lucky to still have a good one, are in demand as is the trim peice that surrounds the radio and HVAC controls.
Doors with crank windows are desireale since the switches and motors of electric windows were rather troublesome.

I'm in KY, just outside of Louisville. This information is listed in my profile as well. You can see it by single left-clicking on my avatar.
jrw1621, Thank you for the information. I'll take a look at all of the parts that you mentioned and assess their condition.

Speedo cable is worth a fortune.
I fixed the speedo cable in my '87. Gas welder.
Oh, that rear visor that says "Toyota" is worth a lot. Mine broke in the wreck (damn F150s.)
I kept the engine, trans, uprights, axles, etc. and sold the rest of the car for about two large one piece at a time on eBay, then junked the hull. I still have a good dash pad and rear trunk lid.
I'm looking for a good passenger side motor mount (the chassis half)

I tried to send you a PM and got the 'Something has gone terribly awry' page, so I don't know if you got it or not. We pulled the engine and trans last night. The mount looks fine. Let me know if you still need it.

Is that a bullnose Saab?
Nope. It's a 'longnose'. My '69 96 DeLuxe.

Do you have a good throttle cable? If so how much shipped to 32615?
I think $45 for a front strut brace is a bit steep, but I will offer you $25.
If it is removable, I would also love the panel highlighted above between the front lights. (If it is welded in, not worth your trouble.) $5?
I am looking for #3 and #4 in the photo above. $5 for each. I also need the emblem from the front hood: $5.
I also highlighted the "eyebrow" beneath the front lights. These will sell on e-bay any day of the week.
The black plastic pieces on top of the angled "wings" that connect the roof to the rear deck are also worth a lot. No one seems to have them.
Front fenders are bolted on and easy to remove. Rust free ones will always sell.
The rear wing will sell pretty easily. So will the bar across the top of the rear window. Those metal tabs hold the clear plastic "Toyota" spoiler in place.
Heck, that shell looks to be in much better shape than mine was! Wish you were closer, I would have a Challenge shell to work with!
If you aren't going to sell the engine/tranny, you can sell the cam covers, entire air intake system, fuel pump, alternator, A/C compressor, etc.
I would give you $25 for the exhaust manifold if it is not cracked.
what year is your car? the radiator cover wont work on early cars. the later radiator is in there at an angle. I destroyed a couple trying to make it work.
Pinchy,
Does your MR2 not have a strut bar?
I thought that all sunroof cars got one (unless your sunroof is not factory.)
Here are some thoughts:
If you do buy this strut bar, it has a bent shape to accomidate holding the glass roof panel in storage, but you need the metal and plastic clip up near the radiator support in order to lock the glass panel in place. If you buy the bar, get the clip. In addition there is a rubber foot attached to the bar on the left side and you need the other rubber pad which is attached to the firewall on the right side.
MR2's with t-tops recieved a strut bar from the factory as well. These t-top versions are not bent (to accomidate glass roof panel) and are a little bit thicker.

$25 is fine on the strut bar. I'm not looking to make tons of money from this. I was just hoping people could use the parts and I could get a little moolah for home and xmas expenses. The hood emblem is intact, but faded. If you're still interested, $5 is fine with me. I'll check on that exterior trim the next time that I see the car in the light. That may be this evening. The eyebrows are busted into 1000 tiny pieces like most seem to be. I'll check the manifold for cracks and remove it from the engine. If it is good, $25 is good. Whatever.
I also have two MKI MR2 spoilers: a maroon LED spoiler that needs paint and the blue standard spoiler from this car. I have a minty Toyota rear visor as well.

If they're available, I'm interested in the front lower control arms shipped to 30087. $25+ shipping sound good? Feel free to PM me to sort it out.
