I was thinking about the diesel engine from a Kawasaki Mule, or a Chevy Sprint turbo.
Hello. I'm not a regular member of this forum, but I am interested in your 360 van. I have access to a trailer on 6/22. Would you be available to show the car in the late afternoon/evening on Sunday? I live in Philadelphia and can be there in less than an hour. Thanks.

Wife said "NO not even if you use your own money."
Oh man that would make an awsume mystery machine.
Maybe she's saving you from your first ulcer Tony.
I almost bit on the 360, then got to thinking about the time in the garage, how much I haven't ridden my bikes because of a project, then got to pondering a trip to Gainnesville; a week off work, hotels, $5/gal. gas, etc. etc.
Sometimes women are smarter than we would like to admit....
do you still have this? I was chatting with my dad over the weekend, and it turns out he has a yamaha bike engine, harness, etc in the barn... "Its yours if you want it, you just have to get it the hell out of my way."
Hmmm... how to convince the fiance...

She's a fiancee, you dont have to convince her yet ;) and if you set the precident now then once you are married she will be used to it (ask me how I know)
And yes its still available for now.
Swap an STi drivetrain into that beatch.
Talk about a serious sleeper
I think that thing would fit in my parents shed, but they and my wife would seriously kill me.

I'm here to save you from your wife and announce that she is now sold to a new home.
I will let the new owner step forward with his identity if and when he so desires.
jwdmotorsports wrote: I saw that you had it listed over on the BABE forum. Will we be seeing it at the Rally?
It did not sell to a rallier so I dont believe we will. But now I can start on my BABE car for next year....a Studebaker Lark :)
Man... Sucks I missed this one. If the buyer wants to make a quick profit tell him to shoot me a pm or email.
SVreX wrote: Was the Lark part of the 360 deal? Could this have anything to do with fiberglass hoods??
Nope sorry, that's unrelated....although the Lark will be undergoing a repower so there may be some consultation on that front.
The Lark was not part of the deal, BABE has raised the purchase price to $500 due to increasing scrap metal costs and they have an American Iron class next year (pre 79, american made, straight 6 or V8 only) so I wanted something a bit unique and my fathers first car was a Lark and he has always told great stories about it so I hope to make a few stories of my own and then restore it to give to him.

I can't afford the gas to run in the American Iron class.

We averaged 24mpg with the mustang this year. But yeah, the key is get a big car and a bigger team so you can split out the gas costs.

I was wondering how long it was going to take, it's pretty tough to find a car for less than scrap metal prices! $500 is a good number, that is also the LeMons number, so now we have even more reasons to shoot for $500 or less. ;)
I hope the Subie went to a good home, they're pretty rare and super cool IMO.

Myself and others put the push on for the higher limit. I can still find $250 cars but its getting harder and not everyone has the resources I do. When my fallback resource told me they got $350 for scrap I knew I was in trouble. I was pushing for just an increase to $350 but the organizers did think it wise to align better with the LeMons budget and chose $500.
I still want to run the "trifecta of crap" someday, BABE, LeMons, and GRM in the same car in the same year.
With the $500 mark, I would already be set for the "trifecta" but I don't think I'd have the heart to bash anything up in LeMons that was nice enough for the GRM concourse.

That was our thinking with the mustang duo. We were going to thrash the BABE mustang through BABE and LeMons then swap the mechanicals over to the straight shell for GRM. But the mustang bores me. Both cars together still came in well under budget for all 3 events.
