Very few Challenge cars have ever had more love poured into them than this one.
Originally know as "The Husband/ Wife Build", later brought back 4 more times, this car has a huge amount of Challenge history. It won third overall in 2015, one of the top finishing autocrossers in 2015, 2014, and 2011, and won the spirit of the event twice.
It is a complete, running megasquirted 1991 turbo Miata with intercooler and blow-off valve. It has the original 1.6L (still running strong), Torsen rear, new brakes, custom suspension bushings all around, and a custom fiberglass fastback. Currently painted in a paint scheme as a tribute to the Mazda 787B Lemans winner. Interior is stripped- last time I checked the weight was about 1900 lbs.
This car has been on-track at Road Atlanta, competed in the Traqmate Skidpad Challenge, and was owned by The Firm for a while as a trainer.
Challenge recoup rules would permit this car to return one more time even better (We can discuss further if you are interested).
Car ran solid 13 second 1/4 mile last year- 12's are not out of reach.
Sale will include the fastback and front splitter nose, plus a standard rear trunk, and stock front nose. Stock Miata seats, out of date harnesses, and basic roller wheels (the wheels on it do not belong to me). Nitrous system seen at the $2015 Challenge has been removed.
I would also like to keep the Hard Dog roll bar and the front Leda coilovers (may be some negotiating room on this).
I am selling because I do not have a good opportunity to race it regularly, and it is sad that it is just sitting. I've got the next few projects lined up, and I am ready to pass this car on to the next lucky owner.
