If you are adding boost and don't want to get into the whole standalone ignition thing then this is one of the answers that I found that will help you keep your motor from coming unglued.

I ended up going with a ford EDIS set up in my 924 ssc project so I don't need this anymore.

What this unit does is let you select (using a rheostat mounted on the dash) the amount the timing will be retarded per lb of boost. Up to 3 deg per lb meaning that if you are running 5lbs of boost you can retard the timing 15 deg. The best thing its the adjust-ability in the cab.

This unit is made by MSD for vortech it is the exact same as the MSD universal boost timing master p #5462

Link to the MSD Spec Sheet and installation instructions. (PDF file)

What you get from me is only what is shown in the photos. You will need to either get a matching pigtail for the plug or just cut and splice (hard wire) it in.

These list for $250-$300. I would like to get $125 including shipping to anywhere in the states. (or best offer)

As for payment I Prefer Paypal. If you are local I would also take cash. I am also willing to meet up with some one if you are in the metro Boston Ma area.

Questions offers post them up here. Pm me or email me at dsmith@radio.fm (paypal is the same as email address).

I use 1 of these as well, remember that timing retard is limited to 15psi.I found out the hard way, wanted to run up to 18lbs but can't.

Works well, good luck with the sale.

Good Point re the 15lbs!!!

I look at this as a good way to add boos to a NA motor. In MOST cases you will not exceed 15 lbs on a regular na motor. If you go to the trouble of building a motor for boost I suspect that it would include a complete standalone system. But if you want to add say 7-10lbs to your 2009 what ever change car this could be a great way to manage the ignition end of things for short $$$

Btw I have a bunch of things for sale on ebay at the moment.

Don'T mind the plane (exceeds the 2009 by just tad) but the other things may be of some interest to people.

The list to date is (ebay titles form my adds but you can figure it out):

931 924 turbo nose panel

931 924 TURBO NOSE GRILLS PORSCHE 944 951

951 944 TURBO INTERCOOLER PORSCHE

BEGi FPR #2035 For Aftermarket Turbo and Supercharger.

944 951 Custom Fuel Rail

1982 CESSNA 182 SKYLANE RG II

I also have a bunch of stuff listed here as well. I guess you could call it my yard sale page >> http://www.emotorsports.org/prod04.htm
