The I-mark was the Kadett C, which we never got in the US, and the coupes are pretty few and far between. The "Opel Isuzu" they sold from 76-79 looked a lot like that too, and was based on the same chassis, as was the Lotus-tuned turbocharged Impulse. It is the same platform, the "T" chassis, as the Chevette, and some of the parts interchange with some tweeking.
That chassis was the world-wide top selling car in the 70's, they sold one version of it or another under every GM flag except Caddy and GMC.
Its basicly a holden gemini. Its a bit nicer than a chevette. You can get tons of stuff for them from australia. One almost won FSP at the SCCA nationals a few years ago (not a diesel though).
Not affiliated, here's a 4-door for $500.

Nice looking, 4door 190k, automatic, quite straight, no rust, good glass, blue two tone, title, 360 643-0405 starts, runs and drives great, has 1/4 tank biodiesel. These are nice cars, I've had lots of calls, but no-one has come and looked at it, so it's cleaned up now, - still needs some interior cleaning, when no one looked at it at the low price, I thought I had scared some off thinking it was a bad one, so I raised the price, no calls, so here it is again, cash, no dickering, I need to sell it. call me at 360 643-0405 for directions.
