Rc car races? Don't gotta be sober to wad up plastic.

Cornhole, but with metal decks and sets of pistons/connecting rods! You'd have to have a safety zone and the sound would be glorious.

Maybe stampie has a junk 500ci caddy block we can saw in half. I'm sure I can dig up some teensy motorcycle pistons. Hit the block 1 point, hole it 3 points.

Stampie, it would probably be helpful to weld some wheels onto the half blocks just so we can sort of move them around.

Decks made from 3/4" plywood would be lighter and we could drill out 4 "cylinders"

I think Wreck Racing should organize a junk carrying competition.

Jeebus. There are sprint races on velodromes, and I've seen ergometer races in bars... How are bicycle drags not already a thing?

Separate classes for actual performance bikes and bikes that run drag slick styled tires...

Vintage banana seat bikes with a frame like a drag racer (1969)

Is anyone running a turbo or big shot stock block 5.0l ford?  If so by the end of the weekend we may have our half blocks.

There has been some discussion.

318hp/liter all stock Honda parts in the engine. I'll have one of your target blocks just after the finish line.

I'm in for food, music, car shows, and games. Think a carnival type atmosphere but for car people. Honda Day is an event that never seems to be hurting for attendance do that with the racing aspect being the challenge

I'm going to consult the half size people that live in my house to see what activities they think we should add to the weekend.

Drunk go karts

If we do a baked goods contest, definitely do it after the track has gone cold for the day, or at least don't consume anything I bring until after the track has gone cold.

In reply to cruisermatt :

No, no, no. That's what family beach weekends are for. I don't mind if a terrible beach karting place gets in trouble, but events, I wouldn't even consider going there.

I was at a partner event for a tech company we resell a number of years ago where they did something pretty neat.  It was part of the regular reception on the first night where they opened up the bar and had all the food.  They had partnered with a local charity and had skids of bikes for needy kids.  Everyone grouped up - I think they did a couple partners paired with a couple of their employees so it worked like an ice breaker - and we assembled this giant stack of bikes that went on to be donated.

Maybe there's a similar local charity that could use a hundred hours of gearhead labor.

"No, damnit!  You're just supposed to fix the cars that Goodwill brings over!  They're for needy families, for old people, they don't need to go 223MPH!!"

Okay, so far my kids have voted for doing an autocross and drag race with gocarts, rc car racing, and a "full on pinewood derby." They are already talking about resto mods on their old pinewood derby cars.

And I'll just throw in that you can't go wrong with the younger crowd with an inflatable obstacle course or bounce house.
