Anyone want to look at that QX4 for me? Swmbo is in love with it.

Holy damn.
Never thought i'd see the day in which there were two halfway decent looking J80s within sane driving distance in my price range.
Any chance you could look at this one for me?
And if you don't get that one I may have to.
One fun consideration for the trooper: $3000 buys you are jdm diesel and trans off evilbay.
I know it's an auto, but you NEED this thing. 1st year, 2 door, very cool.

Not being familiar with the Salt Belt, Tommy won't quite understand just how fast a Trooper rusts here in Indiana. like, the frames are prpbably swiss cheese at this point and if there's a floor pan left I'd be suprised.

This isn't the salt belt, and i'm continually surprised at how little rust cars have here.

I'm not sure why you remembered that, because there's no rust on that truck. There were bolts that were seized due to being on the truck for 190k miles on all original suspension stuff that had never been touched, but there wasn't even any rust on the bolt heads.

My dad had an 01 with the VQ35 (auto). Buddy had one with the 5spd. LSD rear, Pretty fun in snow with decent tires, but E36 M3ty mileage, not a lot of room, not a lot of towing capacity, etc.
Not a lot of off-road/performance upgrades for them available compared to the other stuff on your list.
Get a Gen 1 and put in a VQ30DETT. I don't know why. Just do it.

Thanks for the info.
I'm not really looking for a huge project here, so a motor swap in any of these won't be happening unless i win the lotto. In which case, i'll wish i had gotten the Land Cruiser if i hadn't, because the motor in that thing LOVES boost. LOTS of boost. ALL OF IT.
Speaking of the Cruisers, i don't think there's any reason to shy away from them because of mileage because they're from Toyota's glory days and are largely considered to be made of 100% Japanese unbreakable WTF. Am i correct in this?

I found a Cruiser for $3500 when I was looking for a winter car that looked awesome. The only thing that turned me away was the gas consumption. I wouldn't worry about high miles on one of those.
Yeah, the MPG seems to be even worse than our Cherokee, so that's pretty impressive. On the flip side, it'll keep me from wanting to put an assload of miles on it.

Boooo....
Just clicked that this is a 91, and the J80 didn't get the good engine until 93.
This one is out.

This one has the good engine then. Looks well-worn.

Holy E36 M3, I want that.
What in the hell....?
Can you even get parts for that thing? It's berkeleying AWESOME, but scares the E36 M3 out of me.
Anyone in here close to this? http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/4311725311.html
Or this? http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/4279525619.html
