Not mine etc., etc.

You don't see that many torpedo bodies come up for sale, expecially Pontiacs.

About 20 years ago, my folks bought a house that belonged to an elderly friend of my grandmother. My Mom tried to get me to ask the friend if I could also buy her vintage Pontiac, as she was moving into an assisted-living home. (It was an early '50s, maybe a '52, a 4 door sedan and I assumed had some kind of automatic transmission.) Needless to say, I wasn't interested.

There are occasionally cars from the '40s that interest me, but basically, if it's not a '55 or newer...I could care less. At least this is the somewhat rare (for a Pontiac) 2 door fastback sedan.

Neal Cassady said the best clutch he ever drove was in a '49 Pontiac.

When I was in high school my buddy dropped this body on a 4X4 Chevy frame and painted it school bus yellow.

Nothing got in his way!

I feel a bit like Integraguy here. I love almost anything with wheels, from Brass Era cars right on up. But cars from the late 40's never did anything for me. My interest skips right over the immediate post war stuff.

I really like these when they're done right. There was a '51 running around here that gave me the bug. Hard to tell from the picts how bad the rust is. Do you have a link?
