Found this on my daily CL perusing. I've never seen one in the flesh. I know you weirdos have a penchant for funny French cars. It's very local to me but I'm in San Antonio until the end of March. Challenge fodder?

Making it front engined would be the last thing I'd do.
Maybe a good torque making motorcycle engine.

By make it rip, you mean 0-60 in 20 seconds rather than 30.

Hey! That is a 30% improvement! That's big....
My Grandfather had one of these in Long Beach Ca it was black and had the Gordini goodies.
He drove it 15 or 20 blocks to work at McDonnell Douglas.
A friend of mine drove one of these in high school. He was one of three guys that got killed in a car wreck at one of our deadly crossroads between our town and the beach.

So....did he die in the Dauphine?

I'm not positive, but I don't think so.

It was a bit of a odd question, but I wanted to clarify it for the purpose of the thread. Sorry for the loss of your friend.
The Dauphine is a neat car!
