I am very glad that that '61 is in CT.......because I have over that in cash right now, and even though its a sedan, I think it looks stunning. If anyone in the midwest buys that, just drop it off in Anderson, IN for a bit......I bet it'll run right within a day or two.

The Ad said: Project has waited 40 years. Time to get it out of the garage. Corvair floor was cut away to place it down over a '55 Chevy frame that was shortened. A late '60s 283 was bored .060 over and rebuilt with 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, chrome rings, triple angle valve job, 202 heads, streetable performance cam, aluminum intake and Holley fourbarrel. The engine is about to be started after being "mothballed" all these years. Headers are being installed because one attemp at starting open ported resulted in a minor explosion of gas fumes off the ports. A new clutch and pressure plate drives a Muncie 4-speed (no shifter). A shortened drive shaft (very short) drives the original '55 Chevy rear end. The idea was to set in the original back seat location because the engine is positioned where the front seat floor and part of the front seat was. This would be an awesome, unique project for a person with lots of time to invest. You can't buy the engine machine shop work and performance parts alone for this price. Also accepting offers for parts ( engine, tranny, 55 Chevy frame, corvair body or body parts). May TRADE for Bridgeport mill, metal lathe, large sandblasting booth, welding equipment for alum, stainless, tire changer, porta power,etc , or some combination of these.
