Well as usual plans change, life gets in the way, my automotive ADD got the better of me and I have too many projects and not enough time/space/money.
So the 68 Crown is up for sale. Its a Crown Custom wagon with a 2M 6 cylinder and manual transmission. Since taking possession all the clutch hydraulics have been replaced, a full tuneup was done and the crank and rod bearings have been renewed. She runs very well. From the short trips around the block I've had it drives nicely.
It has some rust around the wheel wells and is by no means perfect. I needs TLC and a good cleaning overall. The turn signals are not working but I haven't even looked at the issue so it could be simple. The passenger rear door will not open from the inside or the outside.
Listed elsewhere for more but the GRM price is $2000. Includes all the parts and manuals I've collected for it, mostly tuneup stuff and gaskets.
I also have everything that would be needed to airbag the car. Some fabrication required but all the hard stuff is included. Will include this with the car for $800

Many more photos at http://misfittoysracing.com/1968Crown/
On a slightly related note the Wartburg is also up for sale at a VERY un grassroots price, please contact me if interested, I won't abuse the rules too much here to list the details.
So none of the bagging parts are installed as of yet?
Is the transmission a 3 or 4 speed?

No none of the airbag equipment is installed. It is a 4 speed manual.
So if the Crown is on the block what are you using for BABE?
Dang it, I want it but need to sell something first.

Questions like this are counter to my efforts.....but what do you need to sell?

You still could...just buy this one and get a 2nd driver :)
Oh, a 944 parts car or a diesel rabbit. I think the 944 is gone tomorrow....
ill drive but dunno about buying...
I knew I could get a GRM discount. I dig the side facing rear seat. Never saw one like it before. My bet is the po-po may not like kids sitting in it that way though.

Yeah, sorry, I meant to send you a PM over on JNC to wait for the GRM discount if you were interested :)
I dont even think the side facer has seatbelts but how can they argue with you if its the factory seating?

Saftey wasn't invented yet. IIRC Peugeot wagons of the seventies also had side facing rear seats.
In theory, you are exactly 6 hours away from me. I should spend the money on the 71 Crown I have, but this is really getting to me. How soon do you need it removed? Any obvious reason why I shouldn't attempt to drive it back across PA? I have friends from Millville and they might be going home for a visit shortly.

No extreme urgency on removing it (within a month or 2) but I have local buyers coming out tonite and over the weekend.
I haven't put any miles on it but I was going to jump in it pretty much as-is and drive it to New Orelans in June so I guess it all depends on your sense of adventure and your willingness to take a risk (and your AAA coverage)

Still got a Wartburg looking for a home ;)
Yeah, I didn't think it would move quite that fast, especially from a CL post. 99% of CL people dont have a clue what a Crown is. I was expecting it to sell to someone over at JNC eventually but this guy knew his stuff and knew it was worth it.
