Uggh. I would so dig an E Type rat rod.

Yeah, but you'd have to steer clear of the Jag purists. Several years ago, I owned a '67 E-Type 2+2. It was quite modified. Ford 302 engine, red paint job with ghost flames, modified exhaust, etc... It was wild and got thumbs up from most common folk. But I got looks of death from Jag lovers.
My favorite car at the last annual British Car Show was a pristine TR6 fitted with an E30 BMW 325i drivetrain. Most of the other show attendees were speechless when they saw the car. My second favorite was a rat rod Sprite with an over-bored engine and big fender flares ;)

How could that car get so far gone? Argghh.
I used to hate them as a kid, but now I want a coupe so much more than a roadster.

If someone comes to Appleton to buy this, I'll buy them a beer so I can take a look at it, too.

You should be able to drag this back to your new house in Illinois in your sleep...
I have a spare xj6 you could hack up for its drivetrain, wheels, and...i dunno, hood ornament?
