Zut alors!

Not mine, etc...

It sounds like a cliché, but this car was actually bought new and mostly driven around our town (population 1000) by "a little old lady" who scarcely went over 30 miles an hour, and mainly drove to the supermarket or Post Office and back. 103, 000 miles on the odometer. The car was garaged and little used in the winter. It seems to run excellently and cosmetically it's in very good condition for its age. Nice sunroof. It even has its original jack and handle. There is a bit of rust in the rocker panel area, but my daughter's 1998 Ford Taurus has 10 times as much rust as this veteran. It has one tear along the side of the driver's seat and the original ignition lock has been replaced. Check the photos for other minor war wounds and small dents, etc. There is a nickel-sized "star" from a pebble strike in the lower left corner of the windshield.

More than three million 504s were produced in Europe, ending in 1983. Manufacturing continued in Nigeria and Kenya until 2006, utilising the Peugeot knock down kits. Kenya production was 27,000 units and the car remained on sale to 2007, being described as "King of the African road". Egypt also had its own production facilities. The car was assembled in various countries, under license of Peugeot. In Australia it was assembled by Peugeot's rival Renault, and sold through Renault Australia's dealer network.

Because of its ruggedness, the Peugeot 504 is one of the most common vehicles employed as a bush taxi in Africa.

Its Indenor diesel engine was so successful that it was used in many other vehicles, including: the Peugeot 403, Peugeot 404, Peugeot 505, Peugeot 604, Peugeot J7, Peugeot J9, Peugeot P4, Ford Sierra, Ford Granada, Talbot Tagora, Mahindra Jeep, Leyland DAF 400, Cournil 4x4/UMM 4x4 Cournil, UMM 4x4, Belgian-assembled Scaldia-Volga M21,M22, M24D (GAZ-21, GAZ-24), Opel Blitz and for marine application.

This is a great little car for the collector or daily driving. You will make up the price the first time you rent it to Homeland or other period Middle-Eastern or African drama.

Sold AS-IS

I had an 83 504 wagon for a while. Damn thing was a truck. Sold it to a woman who collected them on Nantucket.

In reply to markwemple:

You know, "There once was a woman from Nantucket..." just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Nope it doesn't. I wouldn't mind having another 504 diesel wagon. Kinda like a 300d only cooler and more rugged. I wasn't kidding about the truck thing. Look up the rear suspension on one.
