1978 Ranchero - $500

Not mine, minor affiliation. (i.e. someone I don't know, a friend of a friend, owns the vehicle.)

I just got the following email from a former coworker

Hi Joey, My friend ******* and her husband******* have a Ford Ranchero that they want to get rid of-$500 or best offer. The body is very rough,but the car runs and the a/c is in perfect condition. The fuel gauge does not work,and if you fill up the gas tank,gas will leak out of a line. Other than those flaws,the car is good. I thought of you-possibly using the car for metal parts-or if any of your buddies online want the car-they can have it. My friends live in ********** Lake Wales. They really want to get rid of this car,so it's a good buy for someone that wants to fix it up or use it for parts.

Hmm. This is interesting to me for some reason. I would assume a 302. Working AC would make it a pretty good beater here in FL.

Yup. That's my back yard. (Aeromotive, too....we've never met, but he's in the next town north.)

I have a soft spot for Rancheros. My buddy had a brown 77 Ranchero GT with an 8 track player that was broken and you could only listen to Queen "News of the world" over and over.

Sadly this was in 2001 so it was pretty lame then.

Somebody should get this just as a Home Depot runner if anything else.

I'd buy that Ranchero if it were closer to home. It's a no-brainer at that price.

Still regret not trying harder to get the Rampage that came up at auction here less than a week after I bought the El Camino... would have been a fun little car...truck...whatever...

At a Ute Muster, that Ranchero would only be a bull bar away for being one hell of a Feral Ute for some Yobbo, not to be mistaken for a B&S Ute (Bachelor and Spinster Ute.)

Oddly, the passenger mirror is on the fender not the door. I am not even sure if it is useable or if all a driver could see is A-pillar.
