This might be a great deal for someone. Not mine, YMMV, etc. The car is in Boulder, CO

This is a great track day car or entry-level road racer for NASA, SCCA or other events. (It is fully race-prepared and not street-legal and cannot be driven on public roads.) In fact, it's about the best car out there for ChumpCar or 24 Hours of LeMons - you're getting two grand worth of safety and race equipment and a car that's demonstrably worth less than $500 on its own! It would also be a very affordable way to get all the parts you need to build any sedan-based race car.

SCCA Logbook included. The car ran IT with SCCA and won the Central Division. Could also run in Production. Ran Solo (autocross) as D Prepared. (You should check current rules to verify classing, etc.)

This car is ready to put on the track with some minor electrical work and attention to the cooling system. Or, buy it for the many great parts and build up a car of your own. Email with any questions and for lots more pictures.

Base vehicle is a 1981 Dodge Colt - the famous "twin-stick" four-speed provides eight speeds forward and two reverse. (Useable gears are six forward and one reverse.) Three quart Accusump ATL Fuel Cell (SP112) - 12 gallons Remote Oil Filter and Oil Cooler Fuel Pumps and Aerquip Braided Steel hoses for all the above Halon Firebottle system Pro Shift shift light Corbeau racing seat Ultrashield five-point racing harness - New 2009 Tilton Brake bias setup Momo Prototipo steering wheel Eight Minotaur Superlight road wheels - 13x6, bolt pattern 4x4.5inches (also fit some Nissan, early Accords, and other cars) Window Safety Net G-Force four-point harness (past date) Camber Plates Lexan side windows Koni single adjustable shocks SCCA-legal electrical master switch Full roll cage (was SCCA legal when used, but you should verify this.) Twelve decent race/practice tires Upgraded brakes Upgraded springs Adjustable rear sway bar Front stress bar Custom headers

Powered by 1600cc engine, bored .040 over. It's even a Hemi! (Really, it has a hemispherical combustion chamber.) This car was built to beat Hondas and it did! Spare transmission Weighs 1,600 pounds!

Looks like a great project. I wish I was closer.

How reliable/common are those motors?

That's a heavy transmission

I have cash in hand, but live across the country...somehow 'me want' doesn't quite do this car justice. Come on, for $500, SOMEONE more local on this board has to pick it up.

Did that twin stick transmission come in any other cars?

This car might have been run in IT races before the bumpers , dash were removed . Just sayin . Something to take note of . Not legal in IT to run without these items . It must be in SOLO 2 form . Cool little car though .

In reply to Woody:

I had one of these but it was an '82!! Awesome!

Mine had a regular old 4 speed and then a second shifter for "star" or Economy. Such a riot.

I had mine back in '92 and it was adorned with two big ol' racing stripes.
