Looks pretty clean
The time has come, and I'm ready to let my Dasher go to a good home..
1.6l diesel power plant, and a 4 speed standard transmission. 104k original miles, and a clean Ohio title that's ready to go.
The car was resprayed silver at some point in its life. Paint code is L97A, Diamond Silver Metallic.
I got this fine example of a B1 with a broken timing belt.. I immediately jumped into tearing it apart to discover 3 bent valves. The head was replaced, a new head gasket, cam seal, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, injector seals, thermostat, air filter and complete timing kit were installed. Also got a fresh Rotella oil change, and coolant flush.
Could use a shift linkage bushing kit at some point in time. It runs excellent, pulls strong, and shifts smooth.
Could probably use a set of new glow plugs, only because that was one of the few things I didn't replace..
The body is very solid and only has a couple spots of surface rust. The drivers door is damaged, might be easier to find a replacement? The dbag driving the car when the belt snapped threw it open while he was raging. He also ripped the interior door pull off of the door card.
The interior is all there and in mostly good shape. -The dash is cracked in 150 places, dashmat would probably be the easiest way out. -The black vinyl sears are in good condition with no rips or tears, just a couple seams that need stitched back together. -It's missing the original shift boot. -Black Scirocco 3 spoke steering wheel. -There's no radio installed. -Headliner is there, no sagging but a couple rips. -Rear hatch strut needs replaced.
13" Tarantulas with good snow tires. Brakes are good all the way around.
