1983 Volvo 242 Turbo in MA

A friend of mine just blew the motor on his Volvo 242 turbo and is looking to sell it on. I don't know too much about these, but apparently these are pretty rare with the manual tranny. I've seen the car a bunch of times and it is in REALLY good shape. There isn't a spot of rust on the thing. I'm not sure what happened to the motor, but assume that it is completely toast. He's looking to get rid of it quick and would let it go for pretty cheap.

How the hell did he kill a redblock Volvo? That's not easily done. Great looking car. Post it on Turbobricks, if you haven't already.

How much does he really want for it? $1 ad is kind of misleading I think.

Apparently he has been getting bombarded with emails all night and someone offered him $2k for it. If the offer is for real he would take it.

Agreed about the $1 ad, but he was ready to get rid of it for any offer when he first put the ad up. It has to be towed away from the shop by Friday and he only has he doesn't have a place to leave a dead car. I don't think he expected this much action on it in a few hours.

Oh man, what a great car. It's a shame he's selling it for the engine problems; you can get redblocks for cheak and they're not exactly complicated to swap out. All the hard stuff is done on that car.

I would love to do a whiteblock swap on it.
