this is not mine (it could be) i went and looked at it and crawled all over it. it is a true Hurst with the t-top option.
it runs and drives but has been sitting. it is located outside of Lynchburg Va. and the owner needs it gone.
this car needs saved and restored it would be a great project for someone

I had to lighten the picture to see if the Hurst shifter(s) were still inside it. Just parts or pieces of those bring big crazy $$$ money on Ebay. Wish I had a few to sell off.
I'd drop in a decent engine and drive it as-is. I've always liked them.
I have a 1970 455 sitting in my garage that would just plop right into that.

why would you do that. if someone buys this that is a DIY type body man there is money to be made. a decent paint job and a drivers seat and a good detail this car would bring 6k as long as its kept original. i know its only a 307 with a 180hp but it sounds good and pulls good

I don't like cars that have been repainted. I prefer patina over perfection.
I'd put in a decent driver's seat, though...

I only need to wait 18 more months or so...then I can snap up one of these awesome deals.
Just got an initial estimate on building our dream house on the land we bought a year ago this spring...the numbers look good. Gotta save for about another year, then I get my 3 car garage with 10 foot ceilings and a workshop loft up above.
Save for 12 more months to get a good down payment, spit polish the credit, 6 months to build and move in, sell old house for a teensy profit...
then, its project car time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!
muhahahahahahaaaa!!!!!!
If you were going to do an engine swap, why not just start with a standard Gutlass?
A quick Craigslist search reveals that these are a lot harder to find than I had suspected.
there were only 3500 produced for 84 and 3001 for 1983. this is the first one i have seen for under 6k in a long time
My best friend in highschool's mother had a very standard Regal that we spent a lot of time driving and pretending it was a Hurst/Olds or GNX.
On a related note, my uncle has a similar vintage 442 that's just sort of parked next to his house doing nothing. I know that they didn't get the Lightning Rods, but are the 442s worth anything?
are you sure it's a G-body car? all G-bodies are worth something. if it is a G body 442 it's worth saving and yes they command more money
my order of G- body worth
1. grand national/GNX
2. monte carlo ss areo coupe
3. hurst olds
4.monte carlo ss/ 442
5.1988 olds cutlass V-8 t-top car very few with t-tops
6. V-8 powered cars
It's one of these:

I always thought they were just a decal package.
