How long and how large of a crack is it? Any pics of crack?

I didnt grab any pictures, but it is almost all the way around the transmission.

I think he's just being a smart-ass. The ad looks fine to me. Of course, having spent time with one of those cars, I wouldn't touch one with a 20 foot pole, but that's me.

This is an easy fix, for me at least, just not cheap, to nearly everyone else.

What is the Diesel car equivalent to LS swap?

I wonder if one of the swap kits designed to put the Mercedes diesel into a jeep would work to put a 2wd Cherokee transmission into the Mercedes?

Well, I think I might have found a buyer! He looked at it last night, and said he was going to find a transmission and give me a call. We'll see how this goes.
