I think a C3 would work better. Not that the thought seriously crossed my mind. Pretty sure it wouldn't matter how fast you were if you raced a vette with side pipes.
I have yet to drive a C3 that didn't feel sketchy like a Wrangler over 35mph. They had chassis like wet noodles so they stiffened the suspension to compensate.
I'm kinda joking, anyway. I'd rather start with a C5, preferably a FRC. MUCH better starting point for a rallycross car.
Auto vs. manual, it is assumed that all Corvettes are auto since 90% of them were auto.
