Me on CraigsList said: The time has come for me to part with my trusty '85 Toyota Pickup 1/2 Ton 2WD. The chassis has high-ish miles (~291k), but aside from the body, nothing is original. A previous owner spent thousands on a light restoration, some of which went to installing a lower mileage engine and 5-speed trans. I have most of the receipts from the work that has been done, and can pass along the contact information for the man who did it. The truck has a lightly modified 22R in it. The engine was rebuilt when the engine and transmission were replaced approximately 60,000 miles ago. The modifications are as follows: Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold Weber 2 BBL carb LC Engineering open air intake Electric fuel pump conversion Mallory fuel pressure regulator ~1997 4Runner SR-5 Bucket Seats Later Tundra/Tacoma CD Player head unit 15x8 American Racing Wheels wrapped in Michelins Tinted Windows Sliding rear window Black window vent visors Class III hitch Bedliner Mudflaps from a later Tacoma The following work has been done since I've owned it: Head Head gasket Timing chain guides Valve Cover Gasket NGK Spark Plugs Bosch Plug Wires Cap Rotor Adjust front wheel bearings Clutch release bearing Clutch pilot bearing Harmonic Balancer All of this work has less than 10k miles on it. It has some surface rust along the bed seam, and the paint is getting thin in spots on the cab. The tailgate has some rust but is still presentable and functional. This truck is not rotten, and the frame, floors and underbody are PERFECT. If I were keeping the truck, the only thing I'd do is replace the exhaust. It isn't loud, but the tailpipe removed itself from the truck. I do have a bed topper/cap that I'd let it go with the truck for an additional $50. I also have a used Doug Thorley header for the truck that I will let go for another $250. Feel free to contact me via email/text/call with any questions. Email and text message are preferred. I'm not interested in trades at this time. Tim / Five oh two 744 eight three eight 8

Wow! My son called this morning asking me about an Audi wagon with 200,000 miles on it. If the timing belt hasn't been recently changed, I'd stay away; that's a $2k service and more if it pukes on the road.

I sent him this thread, I'm hopeful.

You always have awesome vehicles for sale. I love this truck but it would rust to pieces fast up here in Ohio.

Come on now, you can't promise a high performance engine and show no pictures of the engine!

That's a good point, though I wouldn't call the 22R a 'high performance engine', even with the nice parts on it.

And the interior:

Still here. I'd still like the garage space back.

I forgot to mention that I'd be interested in a partial trade for a known good or rebuilt 700R4 transmission for my 2WD '87 Suburban diesel.
